The China Essence, the latest in the Light Frequency Essence range, was made in the grounds of the Lingyin Buddhist Temple (Temple of the Soul’s Retreat) in Hangzhou on 8 November 2008. Hangzhou is one of eight former capitals of China and its history can be traced back 8000 years, with a rich silk and tea culture that is over 5000 years old. In 1290, Marco Polo visited Hangzhou and was so overwhelmed by the beauty of its West Lake, the city’s most prominent feature, that he wrote, ’In Heaven there is Paradise, on Earth there is Hangzhou.’ Many Chinese people today refer to this city as Paradise on Earth and it certainly provides a lovely alternative to the noise and congestion of Shanghai and other large, busy and polluted Chinese cities. This trip was my first visit to mainland China and straight away, on the road from the airport to Shanghai, I was astounded by the level of construction work and pollution. Everywhere old buildings were being torn down and new structures were rising. Even Hangzhou, located near the south-eastern coast of China and a two-hour train ride from Shanghai, is a teeming metropolis of over 7 million people.Yet ancient temples, gardens and multiple islands surround the West Lake that sits in the middle of the city. Sections of this lake still offer the serenity and calmness that is the very essence of China. It was very appropriate that the Essence was prepared in the Temple of the Soul’s Retreat, as one of the main qualities of this Essence is to connect back to the feminine spirituality of the Earth. China has traditionally, and still today, best represents this aspect, though the levels of human greed and commercialism and the removal of so many Chinese from their land and ancestral roots has made it far more difficult for people to connect to this quality.

Hangzhou is one of the most popular tourist spots in China. It is as if the people flocking to Hangzhou are attempting to find a connection to nature, after having lost so much.

Having spent a number of days exploring and getting the feel of this region, I knew I had the right location when I entered the temple grounds.The temple was first built in 326AD, has been destroyed and rebuilt 16 times and is regarded as the most magnificent Buddhist temple in southern China. In the complex there is a peak known as Peak Flying from Afar and on its limestone cliffs and grottos are over 340 Buddhist statues. Both the temple and the statue areas are very popular, though very few people follow the nature trails leading high up into the other peaks, and it was on Peak Flying from Afar that the Essence was made.

As with all the Light Frequency Essences, I felt tremendous calm and peace in preparing the remedy, being in a totally different world from the hustle and bustle only a short way away, so indicative of China generally today.

One of the main qualities of this Essence is helping you to attain peace and calm.When you are at peace on all levels of your being, nothing matters; it does not mean you do not care – it means you do not attach to what appears to be, because you are in your own rhythm that is aligned to a rhythm that is even much deeper again, thedivine feminine. The latter helps you to see the true significance of what is occurring, not the appearance.

Whilst waiting for the remedy to be complete I was very slow and contemplative, finding myself transfixed in watching the intricate, minute activities of the insects around me.The longer I stayed the more I became aware of the birds and plants around me, yet as if to reinforce the dichotomy of what China is today, a mere 30 metres away was abandoned litter. At the very top of the peak the beauty was also marred by a disgusting display of widely-scattered rubbish, whilst a nearby rubbish bin was underused.

In China today there is rapid growth – politically, economically, physically and also karmically.There is a quick turnover of beings coming in and out very rapidly. Beings are coming straight back almost immediately after they pass over, with little resting time in Spirit.They are returning over and over and growing very quickly.

They are wanting to learn lessons quickly because soon the frequency of the Earth will be very different. Already the frequency is changing and, as a result of this change, many people are now feeling that they can’t keep up.This is likely to intensify as time goes on and more people will be affected.They will feel they are dropping everything and that they are pressured beyond belief, as if it is all too much.This will reach a peak with many people experiencing panic, fear, confusion and desperation, especially those who have a karma that requires them to claim old pain and suffering.

The China Essence will help these people forgive themselves, which will help them let go of guilt and karma. Once the individual brings the power of forgiveness into themselves, much of their accumulated karma goes. Karma is an attitude that can be melted and evaporated with real love.The China Essence brings to an individual the gift of feeling peaceful and calm.

The China Essence addresses the massive destruction, degradation and pollution of the environment that is occurring in China. But it is not just about physical pollution; it’s also cultural pollution – the loss of the ancestry, the lineages and the awareness of the incredible passage of time over which civilisations have been in this land, of the glory that has been. On a deep soul level there is a sense of loss for the richness and incredible abundance that the Earth held. It is also the loss of connection with Spirit and disconnection from the land – a loss that extends through the whole of this vast country. In the Earth is stored that memory, that knowledge and the fact that it is possible to recreate and reclaim the Earth not exactly as it was, but as it is now. (But within the now is everything that has ever been.)

There is a deep sadness in the Earth in China, a great sadness of the loss of culture, of the loss of a deep way that has become polluted.That sadness is really the Earth trying to call its people back, but it cannot be heard above the racket, above the humanised madness that is transpiring in China and above the cruelties and civil war of the last six decades. It began of course with the Revolution, but the Revolution did not do the damage that the past couple of decades have done from the perspective of materialism.

Even though the Revolution said ‘everyone is equal; there is no caste system and no ancient history,’ there was still, within the people, sufficient connection to the land. In contrast, people are now being taken away from their land or their land is being taken away from them and so they are disassociated. So in such a short period of time we are able to see what is happening to humanity by looking at the energy of China. And when the divine feminine is absent, the divine masculine cannot hold the balance. Without the peace and stillness of one element the other becomes more active, busier, trying to make up for what is missing – and so both are lost.

There is a desire in the Earth to draw humanity back into connection.There is a grieving also because it is not really what the Chinese people, the masses, initiated themselves. This cultural pollution has not come from the heart of the people, from inside the society. It has been imposed by an elite, powerful few.When something comes to an end, there has to be a new beginning. China is experiencing the end of an era. 

China has a destiny that is now in a very different phase; there is a kind of desecration that has happened to the very heart of the spirit of that place. There is a presence; you could even describe it as a being, similar to a Landscape Angel, which develops in every country. It is the embodiment of the sum total of the many beliefs and the holding of power of those beliefs contained in that land. In China, those old beliefs and culture have all been torn down. Human beings have made this huge vacuous hole within their culture.

This being or presence is very resilient and it is simply allowing this vacuity and the people to re-emerge.

The China Essence allows you to go beyond that pollution, to have the desire to reach back and, as well, have the understanding that right now, wherever you are, you can reconnect to Spirit, to your ancestry.This Essence is actually a heart-opening remedy and can heal your own grief arising from this loss of connection that is held in the collective consciousness. Currently there is a very thin thread still left linking us back to nature and in order to connect back we need to get in touch with this sadness and to grieve.This will allow us to open our hearts, which in turn strengthens our connection to Spirit.

With all the changes happening worldwide, not just in China, we have already lost so much.This loss has occurred because of the illusion of perceived gain.The China Essence is rebalancing the mind through that sadness, through that grief, through that loss, to change just enough to recreate upon the Earth the conditions for the emergence, the recreation and the reaffirmation of the true values of life, of Spirit, of the heart.

Anyone taking this China Essence wherever they live - Europe, Australia etc - would have the sense of feeling they want to draw back and connect to things of quality, the culture and the Earth.The Essence was prepared in China because the respect, the culture of harmony with the Earth, is being superseded by the desire to tear things down and just grow. This problem is present throughout all cultures at this present time, though it’s particularly extreme in China.

What is happening in China seems to be the opposite of what is occurring in the Amazon, which is all about the connection to Nature. Here there is a surging of energy that is trying again to connect with Spirit – a resurgent power coming from deep within the Earth. In the Amazon, energy centres, sacred places and portals closed down previously by both Spirit and shamans, as a protective measure for these primordial, untouched vibrational presences, are now being released.The Amazon has a vibrant power in the Earth that has maintained its strength, and this strength can be terrifying. Equally terrifying is the power in China of the destruction that human impact has wrought. China has been like an open wound – a place where nothing was closed down energetically to protect it and no protective action was taken; where much was desecrated and hacked to pieces and cultural values were blown to smithereens. It is the other side of the coin to the Amazon, but there is a balance because both China and the Amazon reflect the end of an era and the beginning of a new era.

China is a country of great peace.This sounds contradictory given the current energy there, but the land itself has a profound stillness to it that is literally beyond matter, which is the feminine energy.Yet it has been overlaid with layers of conquest, of endurance, and now the current layer of materialism and busy-ness.

In China and to a lesser extent everywhere else too, we are losing quality cultural connections and ultimately experiencing a loss of connection to Spirit and to the Earth itself. When the divine feminine energy is absent, humanity loses its connection to the natural rhythms of life.

We come into the balance when both the divine feminine and the masculine are present.The feminine brings the intuitive understanding of what is and the masculine is able to create and develop from this. When the intuitive understanding is missing, the masculine has to dash all over the place, creating anything and everything to cover all contingencies.

This is what is currently happening with the masculine in China, with all its rapid development. China teaches the consequence of disconnection from the land and culture.

The China Essence is the fourth of the Light Frequency Essences. I see the Light Frequency Essences as being pivotal in the transition from the old dynamic to the new. In all there will be seven Light Frequency Essences; having moved through the two sets of two they come together in unity, in wholeness in the final next three – basically the trinity, the completion.

The China Essence

This remedy can help deal with karmic overload in this life. It is very valuable as a balm for anxious souls.The Essence has a soft and lovely vibration that helps people feel relaxed and safe to trust the things that they know from deep within their psyche, that go back to their cultural and family connections. 

Just as the Antarctic and Arctic Essences work hand in hand, so too do the Amazon and China Essences.The Arctic Essence took you out of matter but not beyond it. In contrast both the Amazon and China Essences take you beyond matter, basically showing you how to be in the world but not of the world. (See The Essence Newsletter, March 2009.) It means that these Essences facilitate a flow through life.They help you to be effective and active, without attachment at an emotional or a mental level to the appearance of what is.

Both the Amazon and China Essences anchor the divine masculine and feminine as equal halves of a whole but without gender, so there is respect, there is balance, there is harmony and there is union.That is what these two remedies are about: engendering respect, balance, harmony and union at very deep levels.These two Essences help strengthen our connection to Nature and the Earth. The effect of one Essence is enhanced by the taking of the other.

Both the Amazon and China Essences integrate the divine masculine and feminine. As mentioned in the last newsletter, the feminine brings the stillness and calmness that activates the ability to live in harmony.The masculine activates the joy of being alive simply for the fact of what life is – the flame, the enthusiasm, the vitality beyond the trappings, beyond the conditions. It activates the celebration of life itself.
